Joining our Squadron
To join our unit and the Air Cadets get in touch; send an e-mail to Helene Woodham, officer commanding 1244DF. Or come along one parade night.
Parade nights are Monday and Friday 19:00 to 21:30 at the Sunshine Room, Westlea school, Langstone Way, West Swindon. SN5 7BT - here's a map.
New cadets must be 13 years old, but if you are thinking of joining it's a good idea to get in touch a month or two in advance. This will help us plan the training schedule accordingly.
Throughout the year, typically about every 6 months, we have recruitment evenings. These are really a form of open evening were prospective new members and anyone interested in seeing what we do at Air Cadets can come and meet us. Typically we put on a number of displays to try and give you a feel for what goes on - we can't fit full size gliders and Tutors into the hall so you'll just have to look at the pictures and watch the films if you want to know about flying! Please watch the website for details of the next recruitment evening.
Cost to be a member of the Air Cadets is £6.00 per month, which only starts once you get your uniform so you'll have time to make sure the Air Cadets is for you before you spend any money.
